Laiki Agora

Laiki Agora is open air street market. It is usually held once a week. The main marchandises on sale are vegetables, but there are also fish, olives, beans, rice, and non-food things like carpets, curtains, or kitchen utensils.

A laiki agora is held in the street in front of our flat and here are some photos.

I took this photo from our balcony. Can you see how close were are from the market?

Tomatoes!

How about some fruits? Many of the items are 1 euros per kilo and oranges are much less, like 40 cents per kilo.

Greek cabbages are huge. I have never seen such large cabbages either in Japan or in UK. Evidently the Greeks have very large fridges.

The fresh food prices at Laiki market are usually lower than in supermarkets and just before the closing time of market, the prices get even lower. Great shopping.
